During an intensive pressure cooker project at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, we collaborated with VPRO Medialab, journalism students, and media professionals from EO and KRO-NCRV. The challenge was to develop a technological innovation that strengthens the connection between the public and public broadcasting organizations.

Our solution was the Pointer AI-Intake, a conversational AI application designed to make it easier for citizens to share news tips with journalists. The application guides users through a structured conversation, asks relevant follow-up questions, filters out spam, and organizes the collected information into a dashboard for editorial teams.

Throughout the project, I took on the role of Product Owner, connecting the technical development team with journalism professionals. I also contributed to the backend development, focusing on the AI's conversation logic, automated spam detection, and structured data processing. The project resulted in a functional prototype that demonstrates how AI can support journalists while making public participation more accessible.
